My name is Zuzanna and I'm a 2nd year Neuroscience student at King's College London. My priority is making activism more relevant and accessible to everyone, and I see Student Assembly Against Austerity as a great platform to achieve this. The recent election results show how sorely and urgently we need a comprehensively educated, conscious and engaged mass resistance to the prevailing neoliberal, xenophobic political status quo. I wish to be part of a movement which prioritizes people hit hardest by austerity: migrants and BME communities, the disabled, women, the LGBT community, the young and the elderly. Students have more than enough reasons to be angry at the establishment; if we can learn to harness and channel this energy wisely, we can bring about tangible political change.
Activists whose work I admire are Arundhati Roy, Angela Y. Davis, Naomi Klein, Diane Abbott and countless others.
