We reject this inaccurate statement from the NUS President, which falsely claims that our demonstration is unsafe and inaccessible.
We want to make it clear that the Student Assembly Against Austerity, working alongside the National Campaign Against Fees and Cuts, have successfully agreed a safe and accessible route with police, have a serious stewarding operation in place and are working with Westminster and Camden Councils & Transport for London to ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible.
We are expecting thousands of students to participate in what will be the last major national student demo ahead of the General Election in May 2015. So please keep spreading the word about the demo which is happening on Wednesday 19 November, assembling at Malet Street at 12noon and marching to rally outside Parliament.
The National Union of Students National Executive Council supports this free education demo and we hope that the NUS President withdraws their statement which is a total misrepresentation of the situation and spreading unnecessary confusion.
