The Student Assembly Against Austerity is hosting a national meeting to bring together students from across the country to launch the STUDENT MANIFESTO 2015 to put forward the demands of the student movement in the run up to the General Election in May 2015.
The meeting will also be a crucial opportunity to discuss & organise for the student bloc on the TUC national demo in October and the national student demo planned for late November as well as to get ready for freshers’ fairs.
HELP US CREATE THE ‘STUDENT MANIFESTO 2015’
The Student Assembly Against Austerity is seeking to build a broad coalition across the student movement to demand an alternative at the General Election 2015.
Tuition fees, the scrapping of EMA, soaring rents and living costs and cuts to education: austerity and privatisation is failing students and harming our living standards. The General Election provides us with an opportunity to fight for a clear alternative and build a movement that forces politicians to listen.
We invite student organisations, groups and individual activists to come together and help us formulate the STUDENT MANIFESTO 2015 at a national meeting on Saturday 6 September – with the aim of uniting around 10 demands for the General Election.
We will be organising days and weeks of action in the autumn term and in the run up to the May 2015 General Election to raise the profile of all the demands within the STUDENT MANIFESTO 2015.
Over the summer we will be contacting a wide range of student organisations for their ideas and input. Please email the Student Assembly with any suggestions on demands we could make of the government within the STUDENT MANIFESTO 2015 by contacting email@example.com and join the Facebook event here.
