These attacks include tuition fees rising, more privatisation and attacks on the ability of Students' Unions to function, organise students and fight back.
The national week of action will take place in February (Monday 8 - Sunday 14) and is set to see a wave of protests, rallies, meetings, creative stunts and much more take place on dozens of campuses nationwide.
Save our grants – defend our education
National week of action
The Tories have announced a new round of attacks on education.
They are already in the process of abolishing maintenance grants for the poorest students and now they are pushing forward with a Higher Education Green Paper which proposes to:
→ Allow the 'best' universities increase tuition fees
→ Invite more private providers into our universities
→ Let universities set different fees to each other furthering the marketisation agenda
→ Attack the ability of Students' Unions to function
These new attacks are on top of massive cuts already taking place in further and higher education.
Join the fight back to SAVE OUR GRANTS AND DEFEND OUR EDUCATION!
Join the national week of action from Monday 8 – Sunday 14 February.
We believe that education should be free – no education cuts, no tuition fees, no student debt.
We invite Students' Unions, national and local anti-cuts student groups and students across the country to take part in a national week of action to send a clear message to the government.
We want to see campus protests, rallies, banner drops, public meetings, film showings, stalls, creative stunts, petitioning, postering, leafleting and much more!
Want to organise something for the week of action on your campus? Drop us an email on firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know.
We will be providing help and advice on how to take part as well as model resources including leaflets and posters – watch this space.
