STOP TRIDENT - fund education
Saturday 27 February 2016
Join us in London on Saturday 27th February to say: STOP TRIDENT
2016 is decision time. Parliament is set to decide on whether or not to replace Britain’s nuclear weapons system: Trident.
Join Youth and Student CND, the Student Assembly Against Austerity, the National Campaign against Fees and Cuts, and Stop the War on the student bloc to say: Fund Education Not Trident, we want Books Not Bombs.

The Tory government is planning to spend more than £100 billion to buy a new Trident nuclear weapons system. At the same time our education is under threat. Huge cuts are destroying our colleges and universities, £9,00 tuition fees make Britain one of the most expensive places to study in the world and education is set to become even more inaccessible as grants for the poorest students face the axe and student nurses have their bursaries scrapped.
Students are also facing a cost of living crisis with housing, food, travel and energy bills rising.
Parliament will be voting on Trident in 2016. It’s time to decide our priorities. Do we spend billions on nuclear weapons designed to kill millions of people, or should we fund education and public services instead?
