LAUNCHING THE STUDENT MANIFESTO 2015:
STUDENTS FOR FREE EDUCATION & AN END TO AUSTERITY
With tuition fees trebled, EMA scrapped, rents & living costs on the rise and cuts to education – it is clear that austerity and privatisation is failing students and harming our living standards.
As we approach the General Election 2015 the student movement is demanding a progressive alternative to austerity and an end to attacks on education.
The Student Assembly Against Austerity has brought together a broad coalition across the student movement – including NUS Liberation Campaigns, Student Union Officers and a wide range of student activists – to unite around 15 key demands we are making of political parties and politicians in the run up to the General Election.
After a summer of consultation & following a democratic, open meeting held in early September we are proud to present the Student Manifesto 2015!
We will be mobilising the students in national days and weeks of action in the run up to the election to put our demands on the map and force politicians to listen. Our first national week of action is taking place from Monday 27 – Friday 31 October, click here to join the facebook event and contact us if you’d like to organise something on your campus.
We want to get as many students as possible signed up in support of the Student Manifesto 2015.
